    • Most Important Question
      • Process maps make it easy to ask why something is done a particular way.
      • The most important question throughout process improvement is
      • WHY?
    • Examine Process Map
      • If your lucky, an examination of the process map will show you some easy ways to save time, money, or reduce errors.
      • If you can get some data even better, but that is outside the scope of this course and going more into one of the methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma
    • The Key
      • Review the process map and ask why.
      • Review the process from beginning to end that you are trying to improve
      • Remember sometimes Process Improvement is not the answer
        • Ferrari will let you get to work a little faster but
        • Still have to follow traffic laws
    • More Keys
      • Process Improvement is not a one time thing.
      • Process should be reviewed regularly to see if things can be made better or more effective.
    • Benchmarking
      • A concept taught in Six Sigma is benchmarking. This is the concept of looking at other organizations that may be in a different industry but does a similar process.
        • Southwest Airlies and Indy Pit Crews
