  • 4. When were they invented? Bullet trains were first introduced in 1964.

  • 6. How fast do bullet trains go? Bullet trains go at about 130 miles per hour and faster! They are so fast that it’s a really convenient and safe way to travel.

  • 8. Where do bullet trains go? In Honshu there are a lot of bullet trains. They connect Tokyo with cities and islands in Japan.

  • 10. How do you control bullet trains? Sometimes when the driver is driving, the train is going 200 kilometers per hour! When he is trying to read a signal, he zooms past. So there is a thing called an Automatic Train Control (ATC) and it keeps the train’s speed under control.

  • 12. What do bullet trains look like inside? In one of the newest bullet trains (the 700 series) there are 2 seats on the right and 3 on the left. They are also pretty long.
