Social media usage of researchersworking in the field of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) working title Barbara Kieslinger
Research questionsWhat is the value of social media usage for thepersonal careers of researchers active in the field ofTechnology Enhanced Learning (TEL)?1. Context/history/personal trajectory2. Purpose & value3. Personal networks/social capital
Research questions1. Context/History/Personal Trajectory How do scientists arrive at creating web presence via social media and how & why do they refrain from it? How has this practice been shaped and changed over time? What factors are influencing and provoking change in the use of social media (e.g. career position, etc.)?
Research questions2. Purpose & Value What is the main purpose and motivation of an active use of social media? How important is the use of social media for the work and career of TEL researchers and how much time and effort is dedicated to such practice? How important is online reputation?
Research questions3. Personal Networks/Social Capital Does the use of social media have an effect on the researcher’s social capital? Are hierarchical structures and borders reflected in social media or are they fading?
