Setup procedure for Reporting Framework Templates and Reports for QAD 2010SE. Setup procedure for Reporting Framework Templates and Reports for QAD 2010SE. Document Transcript

  • Below is the setup procedure for Reporting Framework Templates and Reports for QAD 2010SE.
  • For any earlier QAD versions requires a QAD Services engagement. Note: This will apparently be necessary after each database conversion. Note : You do NOT have to rerun the UI build to make the reports and templates available for use and running samples, etc. • Importing Standard Report Templates and Sample Reports o The database setup does not populate the database with either the standard report templates or the standard reports. The templates are required for any of the report design functions (such as the “Report Wizard” which will hang without them) to work properly. o To import the templates:  Copy the contents of /<qadinstall>/<qaduiconfig>/com/qad/db/reports/sys_templates/ e.g. /opt/qad/2010se/mfgsvr/ui291omg3/com/qad/db/reports/sys_templates/ to a windows machine (e.g. to a folder of their own like c:sys_templates) on which you are running QAD .NET UI. • We used ASCII mode when FTP’ing these files  Now, run the “Template Designer” (36.4.21.31) (must be under .NET UI). • Near the upper right, click on the “Import” button (see screenshot below):
  • • This brings up the following popup screen (see screenshot below):
  • • Using the Browse facility, (box with … in it above the grayed out “Import” button), browse to the folder where you put the template XML files. • Click the “Update” checkbox. • Click the “Refresh” button. • This will bring up the list of templates you can import as in the following screenshot below:
  • • Click on the “Import” button to import all of the standard templates. • The standard templates will now be available. o To import the sample reports:  Copy the contents of /<qadinstall>/<qaduiconfig>/com/qad/db/reports/sys_reports/ e.g. /opt/qad/2010se/mfgsvr/ui291omg3/com/qad/db/reports/sys_reports/ to a windows machine (e.g. to a folder of their own like c:sys_reports) on which you are running QAD .NET UI. • We used ASCII mode when FTP’ing these files  Now, using “Report Resource Import” (36.4.21.21) (must be under .NET UI) • Use the browse location facility to at the bottom of the screen to browse to the folder where you put the sample report XML files. • Check the “Update” checkbox.
