government implemented the ‘My
House My Life’ programme,
investing 14 billion US $ in the
social housing market.
➡ The objective is to build 1.000.000
social houses in order to close 14%
of the gap of the 7.2 million shortage
of homes.
➡ The programme is being
implemented in the suburbs of the
metropolitan areas, which are well
connected to the city centre and
have substantial industry to provide
employment.
➡ The suburbs of the Gran Natal area
(Extremoz, Parnamirim, Macaíba,
Sao Gonçalo) meet these criteria and
have already been granted subsidised
finance from the state bank Caixa for
21.000 new homes.
