Am I downloading an eBook? Or an eAudiobook?
What format is the book in? MP3? WMA? ePub? PDF?
    • 27. Check Out and Download
Make sure that the items are compatible with your computer and/or your device
“Add to my eCart” vs. “Place a Hold”
Downloadable books are just like library books, there are only so many copies.
Place a Hold: All copies of this book are checked out, but if you type in your email address, you’ll be on the hold list and you’ll be emailed when the book is available
Add to my eCart: This book is in! It can be placed in your cart and downloaded immediately!
You can have up to 6 books checked out at a time.
Check out books just like online shopping – put them in your cart and then proceed to checkout

      Check out books and download
They will open in, and remain in the app until your checkout period is over
When you’re ready to delete a book off of your device tap “edit” and then tap the red circle next to the title that you are ready to delete
    • 48. eBooks & eAudiobooks
      eBooks
      • Can only download ePub books
      eAudiobooks
      • Can only download MP3 books
    • Troubleshooting
      Some common problems:
Is all of your software up to date? (iTunes, Windows Media Player, iPod/iPhone software, apps, etc…)
      eAudiobooks
Can’t download? Did you perform the Windows Media Player Security Upgrade?
Can’t transfer to an iPod? Did you set your iPod to “Manually Manage Music”?
Can’t find your book? Check under “Music” instead of Audiobooks (common after transfer with MP3 books – instructions on changing the files to an audiobook are included in your instruction sheet)
      eBooks
Can’t transfer books? Did you register your device with the same information that you used to register your Adobe Digital Editions?
Software not working with your device? Do you have a Sony Reader? Don’t both with Adobe Digital Editions – the books will work perfectly with your Sony Software.
Is there a lot of blank space every 2-3 pages of your book? Check to see if it is a PDF book. ePub books have reflowable text and when you increase the font, they’ll adjust accordingly. PDF books don’t have that ability, so if you increase the font size, you’ll get blank space every 2-3 pages.
