Why Bother.. <ul><li>RSS allows you to control the content of the web… the web comes to you instead of you going to the web.. </li></ul><ul><li>You can screen information from many sources much faster..skip the boring, get to the good stuff! </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t believe me?? What is RSS <ul><li>Really Simple Syndication </li></ul><ul><li>Rich Site Summery </li></ul><ul><li>RSS is a standard format to label and organize information from newest to oldest. </li></ul><ul><li>It allows content to be updated cleanly, and consistently. </li></ul><ul><li>It allows for content to be delivered to you via an RSS feed </li></ul>

Contains header,date, and the informational content. </li></ul><ul><li>Organizes the information so that it can be delivered to you </li></ul><ul><li>It is how you subscribe to the information on the website/blog </li></ul>

Terms of Unimportance?!? <ul><li>Subscribe to an RSS Feed : This is the process of adding the feed to your feed reader or aggregator </li></ul><ul><li>Feed Reader / Aggregator : This is the software which allows you to add, delete, and read the feeds to which you subscribe. This software can be web based or desktop software. </li></ul><ul><li>RSS Deathmatch: Web Based vs. Desktop! </li></ul>

  • 10. For Websites/Blogs that have RSS <ul><li>How do I find this feed to add to my reader? </li></ul><ul><li>Look for the symbol </li></ul><ul><li>Or…Look for the words (RSS, XML,Feeds, Atom) </li></ul><ul><li>Some are easier to find than others </li></ul><ul><li>Lets play a game! </li></ul>
