Assessment Criteria  The assessment criteria for this part of the unit is as follows: Detailed planning for the design and function of the website considering how information flows and pages link. Justify choices in relation to target audience appeal and usability. Relevant legal and ethical issues considered. D1 P2 Plan the development of a multi-page website: • Purpose • Target Audience • Content • Production Plan M1 LO2 – Plan the development of a multipage website Consider visitor needs and how they will navigate the website. The info provided on a budget, launch date and timescale is realistic. Some consideration to relevant revenue potential.
  • 4. Understand website navigation Be able to plan home page Pages  The client requirements state that your website must include a minimum of six pages. A typical website may include the following pages: Home About Products Media  The target audience for the site is 18 to 25 year olds, male & female and they must be considered while planning. #navigation #layout

Navigation  The navigation structure of your website could use either of these methods or a combination of both: Understand website navigation Be able to plan home page Home  Navigation Bar  Buttons About Contact  You could also plan additional links to individual pages:  Logo linked to the homepage News  Text links in the page text  Contact link in site footer  Links to external pages Events #navigation #layout

Home Page Understand website navigation Be able to plan home page  A typical website homepage could include the following features:  Navigation  Company Logo  Key Details  Latest News  Relevant Images  Appropriate Content  Contact Details  It takes an average user 6 seconds to judge the quality of a website so first impressions are absolutely vital. #navigation #layout
