  • An Applicant Community Website for Edge Hill University Alison Wildish Head of Web Services, University of Bath
    • - Lack of information
    • - Poor inconsistent communication;
    • paper, paper, paper…
    Why?
    • University Status
    • Increased applications
    • - Need to convert those applications into real students
    Why?
    • - Ensure we sent out a consistent message
    • Engage students (make them want to choose EHU)
    • - Make them feel part of our community
    Our aim…
    • - Communicate – let applicants know what to expect and when
    • - Feed information
    • - Make it less formal
    • - Tell it like it is
    Our approach…
    • Use the web for the majority of communication
    • Build a community that they feel part of
    • Let them talk directly to the people who are in the know (our students)
    • - Let them talk to each other
    How?
  • hi.edgehill.ac.uk Alison Wildish Head of Web Services, University of Bath

    • http:// blogs.edgehill.ac.uk /spark/
    The results…
    • “ I was planning to go to another Uni but I am definitely coming here now ”
  • Thanks Any questions? Alison Wildish Head of Web Services, University of Bath [email_address]
