26. 27. Safe Route to School

As part of the safety plan implemented by local Law Enforcement, Stratton created a variety of routes for the students to take that are deemed “safe” by the authority figures

Includes bus routes, car routes, walking paths, and biking paths

Triangle, Circle, and Square for pick-up

 27. 28. Safety of School

The school has a local police

officer at the entrance before and

after school to assure that any children walking are kept safe.

There is also a crossing guard present on the corner for the bus riders and walkers. This is provided by the Champaign Police Department.

The ultimate goal is to increase the visibility of Police Officials around Stratton

 28. 29. Bus Systems

Stratton busses in students from all parts of Champaign.

Some of the busses are completely full.

Because there are so many students on the bus, the pick-ups have to start so early.

 29. 30. New Issue with the Bus

One of Stratton ’s busses was seating 96 students.

This is an issue because the state

does not allow over 70 students to

sit on a bus. Some of the students

were sitting four to a seat.

On Monday that bus route started

with a new driver who refused to drive that many students.

Now, about 26 students (Shadow Wood) have to sit on the ground outside of the school and wait 10 minutes until after the other busses have left until their new bus comes.

Connotations?
