I was born and raised in Richmond, VA, A city with a church on every corner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:City_of_Richmond_Business_District.jpgJust a picture of the city I was born and currently live and work in.
I grew up watching the band play at my church every week. http://www.flickr.com/photos/silent-shot/465699597/Picture of church pews representing how I really learned how to play music by playing at church every week. It also demonstrates my familiaritywith worship music.
It was there that I learned how to play guitar, bass and drums. Images: Aaron AkerPictures of me playing my 3 main instruments: guitar, bass and drums.
I also learned how to run sound at the church I grew up at, and occasionally still do for special events. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:FOH.jpgThis slide demonstrates my job at G.A.B.C. where I run sound for special events and perform other jobs in the media department.
Which is why I was hired to work as a stagehand for a large, summer concert series called Innsbrook AFter Hours. http://www.flickr.com/photos/chriswaits/6245817278/sizes/l/This slide is supposed to convey my job working for Innsbrook After Hours on the sound crew as a stage hand, amongst other things.

Which led to me launching the School of Rock & Worship in 2009. Where I now turn my students into rock stars. Image: Aaron AkerThe School of Rock & Worship is a program I started where we put kids into bands and develop them by teaching them cover songs, helpingthem write their own songs, booking them gigs and setting up recording sessions. We also develop worship bands for area youth groups.
Along the way I played in several bands where I learned a lot about the music industry, Image: Aaron AkerThis is the album cover from a band I used to play in.
Such as show promotion, production and songwriting. Image: Aaron AkerThis is a bunch of c.d.ʼs that my old band, Mayfair would set up on the merch table and give away for free.
All of this has helped lead to the success I’ve had with my current band, L.J.M. Image: Aaron Aker. This is my current band, L.J.M.
We lead others in worshipping God at camps, conferences, retreats and seminars all across the country. Image: Aaron AkerL.J.M. leads worship for camps, conferences, retreats and seminars.
We even served as the worship band for the 2010 World Baptist Congress in Honolulu, Hawaii. Image: Aaron AkerIn 2010 L.J.M. was chosen by the Virginia Baptist Mission Board to be the House band for the World Baptist Congress, where over 6,000 peoplefrom all over the world attended.
And now I am working on my bachelors degree in music business to help me take my career to the next level. http://www.flickr.com/photos/cogdog/3355829768/This is where I currently attend school-online.
