  2. 2. <ul><li>Age Volume of ( ORS) after Each stool </li></ul><ul><li><6 months 50 ml ¼ glass </li></ul><ul><li>6 months upto 2 years 50-100 ml ½ glass </li></ul><ul><li>2 years and above 100-200 ml 1 glass </li></ul><ul><li>Give more fluids than usual </li></ul>

  4. 4. Fluid replacement : To prevent and treat dehydration <ul><li>No dehydration At home ORS </li></ul><ul><li>Dehydration initially Hospital ORS </li></ul><ul><li>Severe dehydration Hospital Initial IV fluidtherapy, </li></ul><ul><li>Later ORS </li></ul>

ASSESSMENT OF DEHYDRATION <ul><li>Signs of Dehydration </li></ul><ul><li>( Two or More signs including at least one Marked * ) </li></ul><ul><li>Increased thirst </li></ul><ul><li>Restlessness, irritability </li></ul><ul><li>Decreased skin turgor </li></ul><ul><li>Dry mouth and tongue </li></ul><ul><li>Tears absent </li></ul><ul><li>Sunken eyes </li></ul><ul><li>Signs of severe dehydration: </li></ul><ul><li>( In addition to above) </li></ul><ul><li>Lethargic or unconscious, flophy </li></ul><ul><li>Unable to Drink </li></ul>
