AOIs and Week Without
Walls
A look at how school without walls
connects to Community and Service
Community and Service
• How do we live in relation to each
other?
• How can I contribute to the
community?
• How can I help others?
• How can I interact with my
environment and improve it?

Recycling at School
• There is lots of paper to be recycled.
• There is also lots of plastic and glass
from students’ snacks.
• For community and service hours lots
of people will volunteer, supplying
the project with manpower.

Advantages of Recycling
• Reusing materials, therefore
reducing raw production and
rescuing resources such as wood and
oil.
• Gives jobs to unemployed people.
• Reduces the workload on garbage
collection.

Electricity
• It runs everything in our modern
lives. If you were to cutoff electricity
Americans wouldn’t have light, water,
gas or any form of communication.
• There are many ways of making
electricity. The most common is by
burning irreplaceable fossil fuels that
hurt the environment.

Community and Service and
Electricity
• In order to stop the deteriorating
environmental situation electricity
consumption must go down.
• The best way to do this is by
awareness. Something that needs a
lot of volunteers.

Shaikh Faisal Al-Thani Museum
• The museum showed us snaps from
history, especially cars.
• His private collection is considered
part of the AOI because it will teach
the next generations about history.
