My experience with Middle Eastern cuisinePresentation Transcript
My experience with Middle Eastern CuisineMy boyfriend’s neighbors are all from Saudi Arabia and from aMuslim religious background. They cooked a traditional middleeastern meal for me- Ghozi was our main dish with the additionof an Arabic salad, Vimto, and Ulker chocolate wafers for dessert.I had to eat sitting on the floor with my hands. Traditional middleeastern peoples eat with their hands on the floor.
GhoziGhozi, our main dish is a traditional mealeaten in the middle east. It is a cooked ricedish topped with lamb seasoned withtraditional Arabic herbs and spices.
Arabic SaladAccompanying Ghozi is typically an Arabic saladmade of tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley, and adressing composed of vinegar and oil.
VimtoWe drank Vimto to wash down the Ghozi andArabic salad. Vimto is predominantly soldoverseas, and has a taste similar to Fanta.
Ulker Chocolate WaferFor dessert was had an Ulker Chocolate wafer. This is the Middle-Eastern version of a domesticKitkat bar sold in the United States.
My experiencesTaking part in such a cultural event reallyopened my eyes to the world. It showed mehow other cultures interact with each other on adaily basis and how they eat their native food. Ihang with these people a lot now, absorbingtheir ways and learn new things everyday.
