  1. 1. Avanade Technology Vision 2014 The health future shaped by technology • A patient recently diagnosed with a disease begins to search for some of her symptoms online. Beginning to feel worse, she logs into her provider’s website and connects with a nurse online. Through a secure web chat, the nurse determines it’s best for the patient to come in earlier than scheduled and switches her appointment. • The patient enters the clinic and walks up to a kiosk to check in. Upon completion, the receptionist is notified and begins to prepare for the appointment. Together the patient and receptionist head to a private area to discuss the patient’s tests and doctor visits for the day. • The doctor receives a notification that one of his patients is ready. He can view the entire schedule and if need be, reach out directly to other nurses or doctors with a single click. Upon completion of the appointment with the patient, the doctor can share instructional videos and other health information directly with the patient into their personal space. • Clinic administrators and executives have the ability to monitor and receive alerts on their most at-risk patients, using the latest in predictive analytics to provide better patient experiences and manage hospital readmissions. © 2013-2014 Avanade Inc.
