  4. 4. Where Avanade has helped along the journey Virtualised Datacentre - the foundation of the Private Cloud. Asked Avanade to run PoC for Hyper-V vs existing VMWare deployment. HyperV proven to meet needs and quickly becomes the platform of choice. The Agile Datacentre - asked Avanade to build the Private Cloud infrastructure with Windows Server, Hyper-V, the System Center suite. Provides powerful new infrastructure capabilities, standardisation and speed to deployment through automation and orchestration. Email Cloud - Avanade successful in transforming email from old-school provider to the dynamic & proactively monitored Exchange managed service delivered by Avanade’s UCCMS platform. Also broke records for speed of migration of over 100k mailboxes. Marketing Cloud Company X marketing business goes it alone with marketing asset sharing platform and social networking solution. Sparks an evolution of IT services delivery and the need for IT to work hand in hand with the business to avoid data silos. Supplier Cloud - BI reporting infrastructure built on SharePoint is moved to IaaS on Azure to provide the ability to dynamically scale out the solution globally to over 100k supplier partners. Enterprise ‘Dropbox’ - currently piloting SkyDrive Pro on Office 365 to provide corporate users with Dropbox-like service whilst still maintaining company control of data. 4 © 2013-2014 Avanade Inc. 5. 5. Where next? ‘We’re not great at implementing or managing IT – help us to do a better job by moving more to the cloud and consuming more as a service’ 5 © 2013-2014 Avanade Inc. All Rights Reserved.
  6. 6. Summary • Cloud is real and there are big organisations out there using it to enable business innovation • Company X has shifted their de-facto stance from “what can we move to the Cloud” to “why can’t we move it to the Cloud” • They realised they needed to provide cloud capabilities to the business otherwise the business would soon force adoption in an uncontrolled way • Value of public cloud has been realised through moving commodity workloads and non-critical systems • Don’t think of Cloud as being purely public, on-premise cloud consumption models can provide significant benefit and greater flexibility • Avanade, Accenture and Microsoft have the proven experience and solutions to navigate you through your own Cloud journey We’re picturing a powerful alliance! © 2013-2014 Avanade Inc.
