WHAT IS AFFILIATE MARKETING ?
Affiliate marketing can be defined as proven business model for making
easy money on-line where you receive a predetermined commission fee for
referring customers to a merchant’s product and services.
The key phrase here is for “referring customers” .
You do not get paid for promotions or traffic generation outright. The
people you introduce or ‘refer’ to the merchant must purchase the product
or service in order for you to receive your commission.
So, you ask, how does the merchant know that you referred a particular
customer?
All the traffic you generate to the merchant’s site flows through your
affiliate link. An affiliate link is a special URL or (web address) which is
uniquely identifies you as an affiliate.
For example, if you are promoting a product at www.abc.com, your
affiliate link will usually be some longer variant of this address, such as:
http://youraffiliateid.abc.com
www.abc.com/product.html&aff=youraffiliateid,etc
The above are just for illustration. The important thing to not, however, is
that affiliate links such as these redirect the visitor to the correct page on
the merchant’s site while simultaneously setting a “tracking cookie” which
contains your affiliate information.
Special affiliate program software on the merchant’s server knows to look
for this tracking cookie when the visitor goes to the order page to buy the
product.
Simple enough, right?
If any of this is unclear to you, don’t worry. You don’t need to understand
all of the technical nuts and bolts.

Here is a list of the tools that you will most likely need to get the job done
and become a successful affiliate marketer.
• An email account – You want to appear as professional as possible. Do
not use a free email account such as Yahoo or Hotmail as your business
email account. If you have a website with a domain name, you should be
able to set up an email account associated with that domain in Microsoft
Outlook or Outlook Express.
• An Autoresponder – An autoresponder is web based software that sends
out one email or a series of emails to people who sign up to the
autoresponder. This can be used to manage your ezine. A good
autoresponder will also give you the ability to send out broadcasts to your
list. You can start with a autoresponder, such as that offered at
Getresponse.
• Keyword Research Tools – If you will be doing PPC campaigns, you will
want Keyword Research Tools. Google has free tools that you can use, but
stand alone web based software, such as that found at Wordtracker is also
recommended.
• A List of Resources – You will definitely need to start gathering a list of
resources that includes a list of article directories, PPC search engines,
affiliate program directories, and directories of ezines.
• Word Processor – Word processing software is essential. You will use it
to write articles, sales letters, ads, and newsletters. Microsoft Word is
recommended, Microsoft Word Pad will do if you don’t have Microsoft
Word.
• A Website and Domain for Each Niche or Market – Some affiliate
programs will give you a replicated website. The biggest mistake the
affiliate marketers make is they didn’t send their visitors to their own
website first. You need a website for each niche with it’s own domain
name.
The website should be full of content, with affiliate links worked into the
content. Ideally, each website will also have a squeeze page, where you
will collect the names and email addresses of your visitors as well, in order
to build your lists.

Blog Platform- We believe most online marketers either owns a blog or
visits other marketer's blog. Blogs are indeed an excellent way of
communicating with your target market and also gain some loyal fans.
There is no better way to start building credibility to be your name than

you can help them solve their problems with your products and services.
• Commission and Campaign Tracking Software – Keeping up with
affiliate products, affiliate links, commissions earned, commissions paid,

You also need a filing system to keep records. While you can – and should –
back up all of the information on your computer on a regular basis, you
should also print information out in hard copy and file it away for future
reference. This includes emails that contain your user and password
information, notices of sales that have been made, and any other information
that is pertinent to your affiliate marketing business. Quite a bit of this
information, in hard copy, will be needed to file taxes.
Ideally, you should have a home office. This will not only give you the space
and proper atmosphere for success, it will also give you a home office tax
deduction. If you don’t have the space for a home office, try to set your
desk and computer up in a low-traffic area of your home, where you can
work with fewer interruptions.

products. Just 1 excellent product is good enough. Quite frankly, I do not
fully agree with him. The reason is simple – never put all your eggs in one
basket no matter how good the product is.
We’re not only need to stick to our business plan and taking daily action,
but we also need FOCUS by doing one thing a time, and keeping your sights
on one objective at a time. It is always better to focus on one to get the
maximum result, then duplicate and multiply your success to other markets.
On the other hand, there are so many ways to make money online that you
may get inundated and lose focus. While other people make a successful
career out of eBay auctions, Google Adsense, affiliate marketing, niche
marketing etc., you must quickly come to a decision of what you want and
have to do as soon as possible. The money's only waiting for those who focus
and excel in a chosen (not any) field.
In other words, you need to learn how to walk before you can run. Once you
completely master one business model, then you can consider on different

Clickbank, for example, often won’t return the results you thin it should-
sometimes it won’t even return products you already know are there. In
that case, it is better to just browse through each category.
Likewise, certain sites like Commission Junction will let you sort within
categories and arrange the listing by things like which products are
converting the best for affiliates, which products are paying out the highest
commissions on average, which programs offer residual income, etc…

THE CLICKBANK MARKETPLACE
The best place to start your search is in the ClickBank Marketplace. There
are over 11,000 information products to promote in dozens of markets and
most pay 50-75% commission per sale.
Choose one of the main categories from the dropdown on the left. Next,
select a subcategory from the dropdown on the right. Show 20 results per
page and sort by popularity. Choose one of the subcategories as your target
market. Click “Go.”
Next, look for products in the $27 - $97 range that pay 50% - 75% commission.
A good info product in this price range is easy to sell. Visit each website and
study their marketing. If you’re impressed, add it to your product portfolio.

STEP 3: COMPLETE SALES FUNNEL
Front-End (Lead Product)
Back-End
Residual Income
This is something that I often find missing in most make money online books
I bought. A complete sales funnel does not only sell the prospect on the
upfront, but it has an up-sell and a backend.
Simply put, earning a $25 per sale from a $50 product should never be your
end in mind.
A complete sales funnel will allow you the affiliate earn on the upfront, up-
sell and backend. Sad to say, many affiliate marketing programs perform
poorly in this.
On the contrary, any product that does provide the complete sales funnel to
its affiliates is likely to be a winner for a long time to come. So don’t just
think of making a one-time sale only from your customers. You have to think
about keeping your customers for LIFE.
Affiliates’s sites have a system in place to funnel prospects towards several
levels of types of “offers”
You should choose at least 3 products to start out with so you can create
your own “Affiliate Profit Pipe” or “Affiliate Sales Funnel”. It’s provides
you with the best conversion and will allow you to squeeze maximum income
from the same customer.
Don’t misunderstand, you’ll still just recommend ONE primary affiliate
product as the front-end offer, but you keep the other 2 for the rest of your
profit pipe. Finding all 3 at once just makes your life easier.
These affiliate products should differ in price and commission type-i.e.
you’ll want one ‘low ticket’ item, one higher-ticket item and at least one
product that earns you residual (recurring) income.

Front-End (Lead Product)
The 1st product will be the Lead Product (or front-end) is always the
product offered up front on the opt-in page and first e-mail follow-up series.
The front end recommends a good solution that is rather inexpensive (say,
below $50). Don’t sell an expensive product up front.
This are designed primarily to generate leads rather than sales. That’s why
they are referred to as “lead products”
It’s wonderful when you do earn some commissions from your lead product;
but, you are not to rely on it as a sole income generator. You’re don’t earn
the bulk of income from front-end, nor do use the front-end for high-ticket
products.
Back-End
The 2nd product will be the Back-End product that you promote to your list
of existing subscribers/customers. This is typically done in the 2nd email
follow-up series. This is where the real money comes in for the majority of
online marketers.
The Back-End offers are generally higher-ticket (and higher commission)
products, and pay out at least a 50%-75% commission.
Keep this in mind as you go along, the…
Big income isn’t in the lead offer; it’s always on the back-end.
This doesn’t mean you should be lazy or careless in how you promote your
lead product. It simply means that you should not expect to make the
majority of your sales on the front end.
Rather, you must focus on building a strong back-end to generate repeat
business from existing customers.
Your relationship with your customers does not cease to exist after a front-
end sale is made.
In fact, you’re in a much better position to make another sale those
customers when you follow up with a 2nd, 3rd or even 4th offer.

The 3rd product should be a Residual Income Program. In other words, a
product which will earn you monthly recurring commissions. These types of

Each step of sales funnel should provide 3 key factors:
Value. You got to provide a lot of value up front and in each step of the
sales funnel. The quality and the value of the product that the customer
gets should be at least 5 times what they paid for. When you give people
value, people will spend more money with you.
Consistency. Make sure that the back end is promoting items related to
similar topic as the front end. For example, if the front end promotes a $50
e-book, the back end may offer a home study course of the same topic for
$200.
Continuity. Give the customers continual education, solutions and
enhancement to their original purchase, to guarantee customers satisfaction, so
that they can increase their own business profits as well.

STEP 4: FOCUS ON MONEY MAKING

You should focus on marketing activities. Marketing is the science of
