1. Importance of Bitumen Sprayer in Road Construction
Around the world, road construction process is very popular with the use of asphalt. Asphalt is one of the most widely used materials for construction of roads. Although we have increasing number of concrete roads now but asphalt roads still make a majority of the roads that we have.
At present, a lot of equipment are used which help to make a road. Each machine plays its important role in road building.

2. In this article we will be focusing on Bitumen Pressure Distributors. As the name suggests, these equipment are used to distribute bitumen with pressure. This distribution or spraying of bitumen with pressure is done on the road. Spraying of bitumen on the road is an important step before the laying of hot mix asphalt takes place. Bitumen acts as a binder agent between the surface and hot mix asphalt which is laid on the road.
When we speak about bitumen sprayers, we can imagine a equipment with nozzles and a pipe for spraying. This machine works on the same principle and is equipped with a spray bar. This spray bar is fitted with nozzles at appropriate distance so as to enable uniform spraying of bitumen on the road. This spray bar is customizable as per your requirement.
The storage of bitumen is done in a fully insulated “O” shaped tank. The size of this tank is also customizable as per your requirement. The longer the tank, the longer the truck chassis required to fit the sprayer. Yes, you read it correctly; the sprayer can be fitted on a truck chassis of your choice. This chassis can be new or old depending on your choice but the length of the chassis and capacity has to be in sync with the tank size that you prefer to buy.
If you opt for the smallest 4 tons sprayer, you will require truck chassis with length of 16.5 ft. after the driver’s cabin. Same for a 12 tons sprayer, you will require truck with minimum 24 ft. after the cabin. We make the bitumen sprayer chassis as per your existing truck chassis so that when you receive the equipment, you can assemble it at the site and the sprayer chassis will exactly fit over your truck chassis.

4. The tank is fitted with a burner compatible with diesel. This burner will heat the bitumen inside the tank and maintain its liquid form for free flow. The heating system is direct type and there is a pipeline which runs through the base of the tank which will keep the bitumen heated.
The sprayer unit comes with a strong diesel engine capable to run the bitumen pump and air compressor. Bitumen pump is heavy duty pump with capacity of 450 liters per minute. The air compressor is a twin cylinder type.
Bitumen can be filled in the tank from the top or from the three way cock provided. There is a return line provided which will help to adjust the spraying pressure.
Other important component is a pneumatic hand lever valve which is provided near the operators seat. This system provided with Atlas Tar sprayer will be handy when you want to open and close the spray nozzles.
Since we talked about all the important components of the Bitumen Sprayer, it is also important to know about the cleaning system which uses air and diesel to clean the pipelines when you are not going to use the sprayer for a long time. Without this system, clogging of bitumen will trouble you.
