  6. 6. What is a wiki? <ul><li>It is a collaborative webpage. The idea is that more than one person be allowed to contribute to the page. </li></ul><ul><li>Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and cross-links between internal pages. </li></ul><ul><li>It encourages democratic use of the Web and promotes cooperation and collaboration. </li></ul>

How is it different from a blog? <ul><li>not organized in chronological posts, but in pages according to the author(s)'s wish, </li></ul><ul><li>allows the insertion of pictures, video and embedment of learning objects, </li></ul><ul><li>doesn't allow comments, only authorship, </li></ul><ul><li>pedagogical use more restricted to writing, editing and publishing. </li></ul>
