xiby is Right in saying the following: ’Accepting the persons as they are without wanting to change them to suit us. This is the lesson you have to learn’.

But how it can be done? The statement requires detail analysis.

In the present case Law of Karma and Rebirth helps us in understanding the nature of man.

We are not the body, but a subtle force inside the body that is called Jiva. At the time of Death it is the body only which decays. However the Jiva inside the body never dies. Jiva is like driver and body is like vehicle. When the life of the vehicle ends it is destroyed. The Driver purchase new vehicle and drives it. Similarly after death Jiva sits inside another body and drives it. What is the basis on which Jiva gets another body? It is the actions he has performed in this life and past lifes which forms the basis for deciding the type of body he gets. If he has performed good action / actions of virtues in past lives, then there is good possibility that he will get human body in next birth. However if Jiva has performed bad actions / actions of vice in the past life, then there is every possibility that he will get body of animals.

Accordingly type of action Jiva performs in this life decides the type of body he will get in next life.

Further there are certain actions which do not wait for another life to give results. For example if we overeat in the night, we are certainly going to suffer by way of indigestion in the morning.

Those actions which we have already performed are stored in the form of Samskaras (subtle impressions). These Samskaras not only decides the type of life we will lead but also influence the action we are going to perform in future.

The attitude of any person is decided on the basis of his stored Samskaras. Suppose if any person has lived the life of butcher, he will have somewhat violent mentality because of subtle impression of violence.

The karma (our actions) which are stored in the form of Samskaras can be of three types. First those Karma which are fixed and can be changed. Next are those karmas which are fixed – unfixed i.e which can be changed by way of our actions / vigorous efforts. Second are unfixed karmas which change by itself and does not require any effort on the part of Jiva. Sometime some person has incurable disease and it does not get cured even after lot of efforts. This is example of fixed Karmas. It means that the Jiva must have performed such type of bad actions in the past that there is no penance and he has to suffer by way of incurable disease. Sometimes same type of disease happens to someone and it gets cured by vigorous effort on his part. It means Jive must have performed less bad actions in the past. Such type of bad actions can be corrected. Sometime some person has incurable disease and it is cured without any effort on the part of person who is suffering from it.

Accordingly Samskaras which influence our actions / decides our attitudes are also of fixed , fixed-unfixed and unfixed. God has not provided us the means to know which is fixed , fixed – unfixed and unfixed Samsakars.

Sometimes people misunderstand the statement “ Accept people as they are”. It does not mean that you do not try to change the people who are not on the right path. Try your best to change a person when he is not in the right path. But keep in mind that he will change only when his Samsakars are fixed – unfixed and unfixed. He will not change if his Samsakars are fixed. If he does not change then accept him as he is. Do not hate him. Understand that it is his strong Samsakars which stop him to change to the good. He will have to suffer anyway.

Now there is question that “Is there no way out for people with fixed Karmas / Samsakars ?” Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda famous statement clears the doubt

“What you meet in life is destiny. How you meet it is free will.”

Wow!!! What a delightful show!!!! The pictures with animations are like a cartoon, my favorite genre of movies. I love the song too. It’s a big hit from my younger days. That was more than forty years ago. Wow, nostalgia, nostalgia!!! How time flies. Thanks for sharing.

This indeed brought a smile on my face by Aretha the GOSPEL QUEEN of music. I felt like doing my version of the FUNCKY CHICKEN or the WATUSE dance from the 60’s. I enjoyed the show & thanks for sharing. But most of all Jim’s entertaining thouights

I don’t understand Jim’s kick to be on a self serving ego trip. Sometimes our heads seem to float above the clouds and we think of ourselves only as NAPOLEON Bonaparte the conqueror (Started good but finished questionable).

But it’s really okay, I have read few of Jim’s morsel comments on other peoples slides in the past a bit antagonistic at times that I wanted to punch him out with few of my words but I’m glad I did not. Jim seems a bit delusional; he just gets once in a while a Hollywood mindset as a Mr. CASANOVA or ROMEO trips and now a motion picture art critique.

This is my recommendation that we send JIM to a place we all know an island called Saint Helena where Napoleon spent the His latter years. But just for a short time until he comes down from the clouds to once again greet the SS members with acts of kindness.

I suggest that we all chip in a donation for a ROSE BUSH crown like the one Emperor Nero use wear on his head. As the swelling on Jim’s head is deflates from high above the clouds and the EGO bows to serve with HUMILITY. We then place the crown on his head to see if it fits if not we’ll send Him back to ALCATREZ San Francisco CA for further recovery. Sooner or later we’ll greet Jim once again to say we care but don’t let year head be corrupted from above the clouds to loose sight of humanity.

George, I always enjoy reading your comments they are full of wisdom and insight. I came across this slide from Zuhal’s comment you had placed on her message WALL. I’m assuming she had placed a rebuttal to your well articulated wise words.

I’m back after 8 weeks out of SS action. I have taken the time to place this comment because I care the people that I have met including JIM.
