Some Facebook Facts and Figures Facebook is the largest social network on the internet with 900,000,000 users worldwide as of May, 2012. Facebook dominates the market with time spent by users on the site.  In November 2011, there were 732,000,000 unique visitors per month in over 53 billion minutes spent on the site by users per month. (Yahoo was a distant 2nd with 17.2 billion minutes spent by users on the site a month.)  The average user spends nearly 7.5 hours per month on Facebook (more than on Google, Yahoo, YouTube, Wikipedia, Microsoft and Amazon COMBINED!). 157,000,000 Americans are on Facebook. Getting Your First Likes Invite your friends and family to Like your Page. Invite your customers and clients to Like your Page in a personal email (IF you have their permission to email them), newsletter or on your blog or your website. Add your Facebook Page URL or icon to your email signature line. Post your URL to other social media profiles like LinkedIn. Tweet your new Facebook Page’s URL. Add your URL to business cards and other marketing materials. © 2011-2012. How to Keep Building Your Fanbase Share GREAT content on your Page that adds value to your Fans’ lives and businesses and not just promotes your business or your brand. Create a simple but compelling Timeline Cover Photo. Create a landing tab for giveaways, contests and coupons (but do it within Facebook’s TOS or you could have problems). Have conversations, discussions or interactive content on your Page. Keep inviting people to Like your Page on social media. Take out ads on Facebook but write them well to get clickthroughs. Create a specific marketing strategy that is designed to increase your Facebook Page Likes.
