      What would we use this for?
      To save notes for an absent student (hard copy)
      Cut and paste into other programs to manipulate and create other products
      Following directions
      Document student work
      Alt + Prnt Screen captures the active window
      A.T.TIPSCAST Episode 23: Wiggle, Push, Paste
    • 3. Snag It (TechSmith)
      Screen Capturing Software
      Teacher Utility Machines
      Same as PrntScrn, but not available at home (unless you purchase it)
      Allows you to capture a scrolling screen (when you want to capture more than what you see on the screen)
      Has a built in editing program
    • 4. ActivStudio Camera Tool
      Main Menu > Camera Tool
      What would we use this for?
      Creating different flipcharts by cropping, painting
      More options than just rectangular capture
      Print screen available everywhere whereas camera tool only available on computers with Promethean Software
      Capturing still images
    • 5. Screen Jelly / Screen Toaster(www.screenjelly.com)
      Capturing video (up to three minutes)
      Need to register
      Have access anywhere with a high speed Internet connection
      Created a unique URL for each video that you can share with anyone
      Cannot export the video (can’t save it as
      as a file and manipulate it).

      Main Menu > Power Tools> Flipchart Recorder
      Same as ScreenJelly except…
      • Time is only limited by the amount of free space on the computer

      All Windows XP computers

      Edit videos
      Import a video created from the FlipChart Recorder.

      Captioning Options
      TechSmith Website has good uses for Screen Capturing in Education (www.techsmith.com)
