TRIP TO BADRINATH, A HOLY TOWN IN THE HIMALAYAS, INDIA.<br />
Started from NewDelhi.<br />Temple of <br />Vaikuntanathaswamy.<br />
First halt @ Rishikesh<br />
Had a dip @ the Ganges.<br />
Visited the Ram Jhula & the Laxmanjhula. (hanging bridge)<br />
Visited the temple @ the banks.<br />
Did shopping. Crystals & pearls strings.<br />
Then proceeded towards DevPrayag.<br />

Joins river Alaknanda<br />
To form The Holy confluence Devprayag<br />
CLIMBED UP SOME 100 ODD STEEP STEPS TO VISIT THE TEMPLE@ THE TOP<br />
    It is the temple of Sri Purushotaman, one of the 108 Divyadesam.<br />
Then we proceeded to Srinagar .<br />
And had our lunch..<br />Enjoying the beauty of nature..<br />
Left for Pipalkote<br />Driving thru the beautiful Valley of Srinagar..<br />
Valley of Srinagar<br />
Valley of Srinagar<br />
Reaching Pipalkote.<br />
Spent the night at Pipalkote<br />
Started early next day to Joshimath.<br />.<br />
Enjoyed the sunrise and the moonset!!<br />
Climbing up to Joshimath<br />
Morning sun shining on the peaks..<br />
Reaching the town of Joshimath<br />
Visited the holy shrine of Sri LakshmiNarasimha<br />
Also visited an old temple of srivasudevar.<br />
Left Joshimath…<br />
Started the uphill climb towards Badri, crossing Vishnu prayag..<br />
Watched awestuck, the locals climbing the steep hill with ease, as we waited for the gate to open.<br />
Traveled the most dangerous stretch of the trip, with prayers & thumping heart and adrenaline rushing..<br />
Forgot everything when the snow clad peak suddenly appeared in between two mountains!!<br />
A feeling of peaceful bliss filled as we watched the frozen river from the peak unfolded in front of us.<br />
The holy town, Badrinath tucked between two giant hills..<br />
The holy temple of SRI BADRI VISHAL.<br />
THE TEMPLE BY NIGHT..<br />
THE GOLDEN DOMES @ THE MAIN ENTRANCE...<br />
THE HOT WATER SPRING<br />
The inside of the temple with the Neelkantaparvath at the background.<br />
The offerings..<br />
The town & the temple at Badrinath.<br />
Visited Mana the last Indian village in this Indo-China-Tibet border.<br />
Saw the origin of sacred river Saraswathi, which can rarely be sighted elsewhere..<br />
Started the journey back to the plains early the next day..<br />
Again traveling by the dangerous mountain terrain..<br />
Had the luxury of enjoying the beautiful Himalayan sunset, by the glacier river Alaknanda..<br />
Reached the plains to see the early morning Ganges @ Haridwar<br />
Completed the journey with a dip in Ganges @Haridwar.<br />
Attended the Mahaaarathi in the evening.<br />
With the beautiful Manasadevi temple at sunset as the background..<br />
Had a bite at the local sweet stall<br />
Reached New Delhi airport the next morning..<br />
And flew back home..<br />
