Passive voice

  7. 7.  When we are interested in the agent, we always use the preposition: BY. Example: Pizza is eaten all Saturdays by my brother.
  8. 8. When the active verb has two objects, direct and indirect, the object usually becomes the subject of the passive sentence. Between the verbs that support this structure: give, send, show, lend, ask, tell, offer, order and pay.  Example:  Active: they gave him a life sentence. Passive: he was given a life sentence. Passsive: A life sentence was given to him.

The equipment was checked carefully.  A. the children are watching a film P. A film is being watched by children.  A. the company has offered us a very good job. P. We have been offered a very good job by the company.  A. Marie will eat fish tomorrow. P. Fish will be eaten tomorrow by Marie. 
