    • John Lennon was born in Liverpool in 1940 .
    • He was part of one of the biggest music groups of all time; The Beatles .
    • The Beatles were formed in 1960 .
    • They stayed together until 1970.
    • After the break-up he moved forward with his solo career.
    • He moved to New York with his wife Yoko Ono.
    • He was against the war in Vietnam and he wrote songs about this.

    • His song, Imagine , was one of these songs.
    • He left the music business in 1975 to spend time with his family.
    • He came back in 1980 with a new album, on his own.
    • But he was killed 3 weeks after it’s release in New York.
    • Whilst living in New York, as he was leaving his apartment, he was shot by a fan.

    • Even after his death, he has thousands of fans around the world.
    • And, Imagine is still one of the most played songs in the world.
    • John Lennon has a large memorial in Central Park in New York City called Strawberry Fields .
    • Each year, on the anniversary of his death, and on his birthday people gather to sing songs and lay flowers.

    • They were an English rock band.
    • Formed in Liverpool in 1960.
    • The band members were: - John Lennon (guitar & vocals) - Paul McCartney (bass guitar & vocals) - Ringo Starr (drums & vocals) - George Harrison (guitar & vocals)
