Audience/Setting <ul><li>The audience for this lesson will be adult staff of the North Ms Regional Center. </li></ul><ul><li>The class will be done in three different days. </li></ul><ul><li>Each session will last 90 minutes. </li></ul>

Class Text <ul><li>A power point presentation will be used as the main text for this class. It will include both text and pictures. Discussion will be encouraged from the teacher. </li></ul><ul><li>I have provided a copy for each of you. </li></ul>
Lesson One Overview: Objective: Students will verbally give examples of early treatment Activity – After power point presentation and discussion students will be placed in groups of four. A game of Pictionary will be played using the following words: Ship of fools, bedlam, spinning treatment, spread eagle treatment, lobotomy, eugenics, asylum, and epilepsy. From the playing of this game and discussions the students will be able to give at least three examples of early treatment.

Lesson Two Overview <ul><li>Objectives: - Students will verbally provide information involving at least two court cases that had an effect on treatment. </li></ul><ul><li>Activity- Students will work in groups and choose a court case and present it using role playing, art presentation, or lecture. </li></ul>
Lesson Three Overview <ul><li>Objectives: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Student will be able to: </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Verbally give a brief explanation of progression of treatment and care </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>Develop digital media to summarize information gathered about treatment </li></ul></ul></ul>Activities: Students will be presented with different scenarios and a discussion will be directed about how situation was handled with reference to previous days discussion. Students will be again grouped in groups of four and will work on the final project or class. A summary of the entire scope of history of treatment will be presented at the next class by each group. They may use video, digital story, or info graphs to present information.
