  • 2. What is past perfect progressive?   Used to show something that started in the past, and continued up until another time in the past The activity ends in the past
  • 3. She had been waiting for the bus when it suddenly rained I had been watching the television when she arrived
  • 4.  According How to use? According to the sequences of events
  • 5. I had been watching the television, when the power went out. She had been crying for hours, when she heard the news of her grandmother’s death.
  • 6. These verbs are called stative verbs Some verbs usually do not use ing Know, understan d, owe, possess, etc
  • 7. Rules to remember ! When using past perfect progressive, do not use the word ‘before’ because past perfect progressive already expresses one activity happened before another.
  • 8. She had been reading the book, before the light went out She had been reading the book, when the light went out
  • 9.  The past perfect continuous tense is like the past perfect tense, but it expresses longer actions in the past before another action in the past.
  • 10. Siti had been waiting for 2 hours when Ali arrived. Example We had been sleeping for hours when the alarm went on Mom had been cooking since 10 am when I arrived home
