It is contact with, listening to and learning from God. The primary focus in prayer is God. Prayer is not limited to words, rules and practices. Through prayer, we slow down to connect with something greater than us humans.
  • 2. Prayer Tips by Salvador Wee, SJ True prayer asks God to “teach us your ways”…. Prayer [must be] transformative [or else it is just] a practice, a habit, a tradition, a duty…. Since God is spirit, prayer should make us more spiritual. Silence, solitude and surrender are helps to prayer.
  • 3. Prayer Tips by Salvador Wee, SJ Attachment to persons, things, ideas, habit and comfortable ways are obstacles to God and the truth. Negative attitudes …are blocks to God. Simplicity of life is very important for spiritual growth. Prayer is not the end, but a means to God.
  • 4. Prayer Tips by Salvador Wee, SJ The authenticity of prayer is seen in how we relate with others. Christian prayer is centered on the life and teachings of Jesus Christ in the Gospels. There is no fixed way of praying.
