    30. Odyssey Moon “MoonOne” (M-1): A Commercial Mission of Opportunity
      • NASA has acknowledged Commercial Missions of Opportunity as eligible for funding for U.S. payloads
      • Odyssey Moon received over 20 expressions of interest in its Payload Flight Opportunity announced in March 2007, including most NASA Centers
      • Many of these are currently under development as SALMON proposals

      • Lunar Orbiter Recovery Project
      • Recover detailed images of the Moon never seen before
      • Contribute to human history, science and M-1 landing site selection
    33. Project “McMoon” The greatest techno-archaeology project of the space-age began quietly during the summer of 2008 in an abandoned McDonald’s at the NASA Ames Research Center. Objective : recover never seen before Lunar Orbiter imagery at it’s highest resolution (< 1 meter).
    34. Project “McMoon” 48,000 pounds of the original Lunar Orbiter tapes were loaned from JPL.
    35. Project “McMoon” Students participated in the unpacking and cataloguing of over 1,700 tapes. Over 40 years old, the tapes contain the most detailed images of the lunar surface images ever taken.
    36. Project “McMoon” Students also participated in the restoration of the AMPEX tape machines rescued from a garage by the LOIRP team.
    37. Project “McMoon” Like a scene from the movie “Contact”, the LOIRP team discovered how to read and interpret the 40+ year old audio and image data. www.moonviews.com

      • Establishing permanent astrophysical observations and lunar commercial communications systems on the Moon
    45. Flight Schedule The lander flight schedule for the forecast period FY08-FY15 is illustrated in the chart. In each case the lander system has a development period of c. 3 years from initial mission scoping to rocket launch.
