You Cant Do it Alone! Food storage is a big job! Getting your family to help is a great way to lighten your load.The trick is convincing them to help!
Make a Game Out of It Play I-Spy and have your kids look for contaminants in your food storage, like:Weevils Discolored JarsDented Cans Broken SealsExpired Foods Stinky smells
Scavenger Hunt! When putting together 72-hour kits, make it a scavenger hunt! Have your kids look all over the house for items to put in the kit.Have them look for things like an extra pair of shoes, a warm windbreaker, 3 pairs of socks and underwear, jeans, 3 shirts, pj’s, granola bars, water (3 gallons), and other non- perishable foods.
Count it OutFor your kids just learning how to count, make this a teaching opportunity. Let them help with your inventory! Its a great way to get them involved with emergency prep and create less work for you too!
Prepare for Zombies!Explain to your husband and older kids that they need to be prepared for the zombie apocalypse.
