  • India is a country in south Asia. What would be the best way to travel toIndia from Ireland?
  • 1.2 billion people live in India. There are many different languages inIndia but most people speak Hindi and English. Namaste is the Hindiway to say Hello or Dia dhuit.
  • Indian RupeeThe money in India is called the Indian Rupee. You can not spend yourEuros in India. Does the Rupee note look like Euro notes?
  • SariMany Indian women wear a traditional dress called a sari. A sari is madeof 6 metres of cloth that is wrapped to form a skirt and then draped overthe shoulder. A sari is always very colourful.
  • BindiMany Indian women wear a bindi on their forehead to protect themagainst bad luck. The red colour of the bindi stands for love and goodluck.
  • Food in IndiaIndia is known for it’s delicious curries. Indian food can be very spicy.People in India usually eat their food with their hands. They use bread toscoop up the rice and curry.

  • The cities in India are very big and very busy. The coutryside is muchquieter. Rice is drown in paddy fields in the countryside.

  • BollywoodBollywood is a Hindi language film industry in India. Bollywood moviesalways have lots of dancing and singing in them. They can be 3 or 4 hourslong.
