5. SRI Programme (2011-12)
• Goal – MVDA aims to extend SRI amongst small and
marginal farmers of Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand
to alleviate poverty and to ensure food security .
• Objectives -
• Undertake capacity building of farmers to adopt the SCI
technique for paddy, wheat and other crops.
• Build capacities on SCI of voluntary organizations by
creating a talent pool of master trainers & village level
resource persons.
• Inculcate the habit of preferring SRI during cereals and
pulses cultivation by the small and marginal farmers of
Bhilangana, Jakindhar and Kirtinagar block of Tehri
Garhwal district
6. Expected Outcomes:
• 6,000 farmers to adopt SRI during
kharif 2011 and 1000 farmers during
rabi 2011 from Bhilangna, jakindhar
and Kirtiniagar block of Tehri Garhwal
district.
• Developing a cadre of 08 master
trainers and 30 village level resource
persons (progressive farmers) for
supporting farmers from 30 villages.
• Enhanced additional paddy
production by at least 30 kg per
household during kharif and 30 kg per
household during rabi.
