SRI Programme (2011-12)• Goal – MVDA aims to extend SRI amongst small and marginal farmers of Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand to alleviate poverty and to ensure food security .• Objectives -• Undertake capacity building of farmers to adopt the SCI technique for paddy, wheat and other crops.• Build capacities on SCI of voluntary organizations by creating a talent pool of master trainers & village level resource persons.• Inculcate the habit of preferring SRI during cereals and pulses cultivation by the small and marginal farmers of Bhilangana, Jakindhar and Kirtinagar block of Tehri Garhwal district

Expected Outcomes:• 6,000 farmers to adopt SRI during kharif 2011 and 1000 farmers during rabi 2011 from Bhilangna, jakindhar and Kirtiniagar block of Tehri Garhwal district.• Developing a cadre of 08 master trainers and 30 village level resource persons (progressive farmers) for supporting farmers from 30 villages.• Enhanced additional paddy production by at least 30 kg per household during kharif and 30 kg per household during rabi.

  13. 13. Institutional Networking• NABARD have supported 30 Villages of 5 Blocks of Tehri Garhwal on crop intensification, adopting Organic Methods.• Capacity building of 30 Famers Clubs and 05 Supporting NGOs for SRI and SWI.
