with multiple cost effective solar energy technologies and the invention was filed for
patenting in USPTO. The client wanted to commercialize the invention by manufacturing
and selling. They were seeking VC funding for their project.
KAnalysis supported the client in seeking VC funding by performing a risk analysis for the
clients patents. The process followed for this requirement was as follows –
1. Multiple technologies were broken down into features and areas of application
2. Using this list of features a taxonomy was created on mutually exclusive and completely

Live Project C - Client is a leading IP Law firm in US. Their client wanted to invest in a
portfolio of patent dealing with mobile technology and radio antennas. The client
wanted to evaluate the entire portfolio and identify high market potential patents.
KAnalysis supported the client by performing a Due Diligence study to identify the valuable and
risky IP assets in the portfolio. The process followed for this requirement was as follows –
1. All the patents in the portfolio were investigated on individual basis
2. Every patented technology was understood and claimed sections were used to create
technical features
3. Various search strategies were adopted to identify patents disclosing overlapping feature
4. The identified patents were screened and relevant ones were mapped on to each patent
claims
5. Validity risks for each patent was investigated and technical opinion was provided according
to the country’s patent laws
6. The portfolio was finally segregated into low risk to high risk patent assets

wanted to enter into Indian market and launch their various IT solutions. They had no
idea about the Indian IT market and how to go about with having a legal entity. For this
they wanted to identify potential partners for collaboration.
KAnalysis provided a complete solution to client’s requirement by performing a detailed IT
infrastructure market assessment in India.
The study focused on the following was – IT industry overview, identifying various market
segments, market size and growth rates, major selling products, leading players in each segment,
existing distribution channels and dynamics, various entities across the entire distribution
network, filtering of channel partners according to their revenues, geographical presence,
company size etc.

usefulness of the patent and commercial viability.

Diligence The process followed for this requirement was as follows –
