  • 4. What will we be covering? ● ● ● ● Why graphic novels in general? How to build a collection How do they support the curriculum? How to market it

  • 6. Images Rock!
  • 7. Today
  • 8. But why pictures instead of text??
  • 9. We have this ABRAHAM: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir? SAMPSON: I do bite my thumb, sir. ABRAHAM: Do you bite your thumb at us, sir? SAMPSON: [Aside to GREGORY] Is the law of our side, if I sayay? GREGORY: No. SAMPSON: No, sir, I do not bite my thumb at you, sir, but I bite my thumb, sir. GREGORY: Do you quarrel, sir? ABRAHAM: Quarrel sir! no, sir.

  • 11. This... We called each other names, over and over again, like “you son of a b*****” and “ni*** lover” We each tried to do everything we could to test ourselves, to break each other’s spirits . We tried to dehumanize each other, by throwing water and blowing smoke in each other’s faces.

  • 13. But why the library?? There are all kinds of arguments for and against having graphic novels. All you need to know is this...
