•Homework will be assigned as needed tocomplete class work. Class work may include dailyactivities and/or major assignments.

The NISD English Department grading policy: • 60% Summative assessments • major papers, tests, projects, assessments that assess mastery • 40% Formative assessments • benchmarks, homework, assignments that assess progress
• It is the student’s responsibility to ask for and complete make-up work when absent.• Make-up work must be completed in a timely manner (within one day for each day absent).• Consideration will be taken in cases of extended absences.• Students will be given a minimum of 2 days for every day absent to complete make-up assignments.• This holds true for both excused and unexcused absences.
• Formative assessments can be turned in/corrected within areasonable time frame for a maximum grade of 75%.• Summative assessments can be turned in/corrected for full credit.• It is the student’s responsibility to turn in late assignments.
