  • 4. Two-pocket folder (any color)
  • 5. Notebook paper
  • 6. Blue/Black Pen or Pencil</li></ul>*Kleenex donations will be greatly appreciated.<br />
  • 7. Homework <br /><ul><li>Homework will be assigned as needed to complete class work. Class work may include daily activities and/or major assignments.</li></li></ul><li>Briscoe Tardy Policy<br />First Tardy: Verbal Warning to Student<br />Second Tardy: Verbal Warning to Student<br /> Phone Call to Parent/Guardian<br />Third Tardy: Office Referral<br />
  • 8. Grading Policy<br />The NISD English Department grading policy:<br /><ul><li>60% Summative assessments
  • 9. major papers, tests, projects, assessments that assess mastery
  • 10. 40% Formative assessments
  • 11. benchmarks, homework, assignments that assess progress</li></li></ul><li>Make-Up Work <br /><ul><li>It is the student’s responsibility to ask for and complete make-up work when absent.
  • 12. Make-up work must be completed in a timely manner (within one day for each day absent).
  • 13. Consideration will be taken in cases of extended absences.
  • 14. Students will be given a minimum of 2 days for every day absent to complete make-up assignments.
  • 15. This holds true for both excused and unexcused absences.</li></li></ul><li>Late Work <br /><ul><li>Formative assessments can be turned in/corrected within a reasonable time frame for a maximum grade of 75%.
  • 16. Summative assessments can be turned in/corrected for full credit.
  • 17.
