  • 4. RIBBONRibbon environment The ribbon environment is the top most area that you can see once you openthe new Microsoft applications. In certain application like, outlook for the office2007 stack, you can only see the new ribbon environment only when you opena process.
  • 5. TABS, GROUPS, COMMANDS Groups Tabs CommandsTabs, Groups, CommandsIn the ribbon we have three things, Namely tabs groups and commands.Where as in tabs we have a set of groups and in the groups we have a set ofcommands that are specific to the functional area.

FEATURES Quick access toolbar You can add most wonted tools to quick access toolbarTo use short cuts hit the alter key on the keyboard When you want to access the frequently sued text editing features, you can highlight the test that you want to change and then take your mouse a bit upward, You will get a small tool bar something similar to bellow, which we call as Mini tool bar.   • 7. CREATING NEW DOCUMENT Office button Click on the “Office” button Select “New” from the menu Select “Blank document” Click on the “Create ” button
  • 8. OPENING A DOCUMENT Click on the “Office” button Select “Open” from the menu Select the document Click on the “Open ” button
  • 9. DIFFERENT BETWEEN CLOSE &EXIT If you close the document it will only close our current document Close If you click on the “exit” button it will close both program and document Exit
  • 10. SAVING A FILE Click on the “Office” button Select “Save” or “Save as” from the menu Set a place to save Click on the “Save ” button
  • 11. SET PASSWORD TO DOCUMENT When “save as” dialog box appears click on the tools Select “General Options” from the menu Entre Passwords to Open or/& Modify Click on the “Ok” button Retype the passwords on “Conform Password” dialog box Click “Ok”
  • 12. SAVE THE DOCUMENT AS TEMPLATE Click on the “Office” button Select “Save as” from the menu Select a “Word Template” Set name & place to save Click on the save button
  • 13. EDITING TEXTS ----------To move text -------- 1. Select text 2. Right click on the text 3. Select “Cut”  Or Short cut key is “Ctrl+X” ----------To Copy text -------- 1. Select text 2. Right click on the text 3. Select “Copy”  Or Short cut key is “Ctrl+C” ----------To Past text -------- 1. Select text You can also use Clipboard 2. Right click on the text group to do above 3. Select “Past”  Or Short cut key is “Ctrl+V”
  • 14. UNDO & REDO Undo Use these buttons to undo & redo Shortcut key is “Ctrl+Z” Redo
  • 15. USE BOLD, ITALIC & UNDERLINE Select “Home” tab from the ribbon On the “Font” Group Select Bold/Italic/Underline Shortcuts:- Bold- “Ctrl+B”Bold Underline Italic- “Ctrl+I” Italic Underline “Ctrl+U” You can also use “Mini tool bar”
  • 16. DROP CAP & WORD ART To use drop cap 1. Select “Insert” 2. Select “Drop cap” from “Text” group To insert Word art Click here to insert 1. Select “Insert” Drop caps 2. Select “Word Art” from “ Text” Group 3. Select a style you wonted from gallery 4. Type the text as you wish Click here to insert 5. Click “Ok” button Word Art

ADDING, CREATING, DELETING STYLESOther than applying any formatting options manually, you can always savetime by sing the Style gallery in applying styles to a set of word phrases.To add styleSelect text >> Select “Home” tab >> Select one form the “Styles” groupTo create styleCreate style on the work space >> Select the text >> Right click on it >> Select “Styles”> Click on the “Save selection as New quick style” >> Enter name >> Click “Ok” To delete style Right click on the style that you wont to delete >> Select “Remove style from quick styl gallery

AUTO CORRECTThis feature is very useful while we type a document It will replace misspelled words ex :- If you type “THE” as “TEH” it will replace it as “THE It will replace first letter of every line as upper case You can use it to type symbols like ®,©,™, 21st Type as (R) to ® , Type (C) to © , Type (TM) to ™
  • 19. CHANGE THE FONT STYLE & SIZE You can use this command for more optionsYou can use command on font group to change font, size, &add more effects
  • 20. PAGE SETUP You can find page setup form “Page Layout” tab You can use this group for Edit margin size Change page orientation as portrait / landscape Change page size as A5/A4/A3/Letter Add column
  • 21. USING PRINT PREVIEW OPTION Click here to access print preview You can use print preview to view what will be your document after you print it, before you Print it. To exit print preview click here
  • 22. PRINTING A DOCUMENTClick on the office buttonSelect printMake necessary changesPress ok button
  • 23. CHANGE THE PARAGRAPH SPACING You can use paragraph group o the home tab for change paragraph options. You can also use paragraph group to change space between paragraph.
  • 24. THE DRAWING TOOLBARYou can use drawing toolbar to insert shape, change shape style, fill color, add Shadowor 3d effect and also arrange shape.This toolbar will automatically add as a new tab while you create or select a shape.You can access it by clicking here on the title bar
  • 25. INSERTING CLIP ART After you clicking that command it will open a panel named as “Clip art” on the right side of your window. Then you can search for clip art, You can also use organize clip at the bottom of the panel to browse clip art.To insert clip art click hereOn the insert tab After you found the clip art you wont just click it add It your document.

INSERT A PICTURE TO DOCUMENT It will open a window named as “Insert picture” First browse picture location Select the picture Click insert at the bottom of a windowClick here to insert picturefrom file on the insert tab You can make changes to chart from picture tool that will added as tab after you add a chart
  • 27. INSERT A CHART TO DOCUMENT Click the chart command on the insert tab Select a chart type from the window Do the necessary changes to chart You can make changes to chart from designClick here to insert chart toolbar that will added as tab after you addfrom file on the insert tab a chart
  • 28. INSERT BULLET & NUMBERING You can add bullet & numbering by clickingClick here these commands To change style use little arrow heed on the side of command 1st command is bullet 2nd command is numbering 3rd command can use to add multiple bullet & number
  • 29. ALIGNMENT You can use alignment commands on the “Paragraph” group on the “Home” tab 1st command will align your text to left 2nd one will align centerClick these commands 3rd one will align right sideto align your text 4th one will justify your text( this will add a clean look to your doc)
  • 30. BORDER & SHADING To access “Border & Shading” click “Page borders” on the “page background” group placed at “page layout” tab Make necessary changes Click “ok”Click here to access
  • 31. TABLES To insert a table Select “Table” command on insert tab  Text to table This option will convert your text to table While you typing separate words using “tab” key Select insert >> Table >> Convert text to table
  • 32. SPELLING & THESAURUS While you typing, some times you may seen read lines under some letters This will add automatically by the program to show you the spelling mistakes You can correct them by right clicking them Some times you may see Green lines under yo text this will add for notify grammar mistake You can also correct them as above Thesaurus can use to find synonyms words To access this function Review >> Thesaurus
