Liz Dorland, academic at Washington U in St. LouisBeautiful presentation, beautiful visuals. I agree totally that it's not about the tools. But it's also not about ditching them. It's about how well you use them (in combination with voice, body, mind).
My quibble is ABOUT visuals and visualizations. What tool did you use to make this great presentation? I'm guessing it was one of those on the 'bad' slide.
I think leaving out visual images, animations, etc. and using only words on slides is the mistake that many make. It's not about not using the tool at all, but about using it badly.
I'd hate to have all presentations be just a body and a voice. ;-)
Arthur Sevenstern, the boss at Excellent Presenteren@yzheimer Sharp comment, thanx! However I disagree: I would trust my kitchen cabinets to a great carpenter with lousy tools rather than a bad carpenter with state-of-the-art tools. only if there is choice between two great carpenters, then the tools can make a difference.2 years ago
