  • 1. FACTS (Fast Access Control Technology Solutions) Biometric-Based Access Control Systems (ACS)
  • 2. What is FACTS ???  Fast Access Control Technology Solutions.  Biometric-Based Access Control Systems(ACS).  Positive identification (ID) verification of a large number of people (possibly thousands) in a short time, such as when people enter the gates of a manufacturing plant in the morning, can be a critical task for the security guards.
  • 3. Back End of FACTS Developed and Demonstrated at Honeywell Labs. FACTS solution combines radio frequency identification (RFID) tags with FRS (Family Radio Service). The FACTS system is an access control system that integrates facial biometric and RF technology. The system secures authorized access to enrolled drivers by matching stored facial signatures to a live video sequence of faces.
  • 4. FINGER PRINT SCAN FACE RECOGNITION CARD SWIPE SYSTEM PASSWORD CURRENT METHODS
  • 5. Present Access Control Methods
  • 6. Current Methods Fingerprinting is unreliable and requires too much cooperation. Face recognition systems(FRS) are unacceptable in a one-to- many application. Iris scan is slow . Card can be stolen or a password forgotten, copied or given to an unauthorized person.
  • 7. Main components for Interface A Tri-Band Imaging (TBI) camera system reliably detects and tracks human faces. 3 Activators, 3 Receivers, 3Road Loops.  The combination of a road loop and an activator read the personal tag.
  • 8. Main components Activator: The activator is a 132 kHz RF transmitter connecting directly to the transmit antenna. It provides an activation signal that awakens tags as they pass through the antenna's field.
  • 9. Main components Receiver: The receiver receives the tag signals via its receiving antenna and sends the tag data to either a PC or control device, based on how it is programmed to respond to the Activator ID. Visit www.seminarlinks.blogspot.com to download
  • 10. Main components Road Loops: The road loop is a rectangular loop of 14- gauge wire forming a transmit antenna operating at 132 kHz. The road loop was laid out in a rectangle 14 feet by 4 feet.
  • 11. Layout of FACTS entrance Gate
  • 12. Tri-Band Imaging (TBI) camera TBI, operates on two near infrared (IR) bands: near IR is the reflective IR region of 0.8–2.2 microns. (a1) is the upper reflective IR (UIR) band (a2) is the lower reflective infrared (LIR) 0.8-1.4 micron band
  • 13. Basic Blocks Of FACTS Subject. Tri Band imaging Camera. Frame Grabbers. Computer System. Pen Computer.
  • 14. TBI system and its interface to the TBI computer
  • 15. Networked FACTS system devices. RF receivers are connected via TCP/IP network to their respective IP addresses
  • 16. Enrollment Process Face Detection using TBI system. The face detection result is upper right.
  • 17. Need For Security Protect Privacy of the Data and Information. To reject un-authorized users to access the data.  To avoid data redundancy.
  • 18. Advantages FACTS is dynamic, secure, positive, and hands-free for fast gate access control. Provide quick and convenient positive (reliable) ID. Positive identification (ID) verification of a large number of people can be done.
  • 19. Conclusion Positive identification (ID) verification of a large number of people (possibly thousands) in a short time. More Reliable and robust.
