    Creating an Oracle APEX Application from spreadsheet - Presentation Transcript

    1. Creating an APEX Application from spreadsheet
    2. Logon to Oracle APEX Workspace
    3. Click on Application Builder
    4. Click on ‘Create’ icon
    5. Select ‘Create from spreadsheet’. Click ‘Next’
    6. Select ‘Copy and paste’. Click ‘Next’
    7. Copy the data from spreadsheet and paste in the window
    8. Select and copy the data from spreadsheet
      • Copy the data from spreadsheet
    9. Paste the copied data in APEX. Click ‘Next’
    10. APEX will analyze the pasted data and will come up with table structure. You can edit it, if required Specify the table name The datatype will be selected automatically Say ‘No’ to columns you don’t want to upload
    11. Enter a singular name and plural name. Edit the labels These labels will become column headings in report and field labels in forms Singular name and plural name will be used in the application
    12. Select the column for which data should be summarized in reports and charts. For this application we want to summarize the data on participant’s country. Click on ‘COUNTRY’
    13. Enter the ‘Application Name’ and click ‘Next’.
    14. Select theme which will define the look and feel of the application
    15. Click ‘Create’ to create the application
    16. Click ‘Run Application’ to see how does the application look like.
    17. Enter workspace user name and password. Click ‘Login’. Notice the user interface. Look and feel coming from theme selected while creating the application
    18. And here is our application. Neatly built from a spreadsheet, without writing even a single piece of code. For Editing or Deleting an existing Record For Creating a New Record Plural Name used here
    19. You can edit the record as required. Notice ‘Cancel’, ‘Delete’, ‘Apply Changes’, & ‘Next’ buttons. To go to next record
    20. ‘ Create’ a new record screen. Singular Name used here Plural Name used here You can add a new record and click on ‘Create’ button to save the record. Click ‘cancel’ to discard your changes.
    21. From main page click on ‘Analyze’ tab Analyze tab
    22. Click ‘By Country’ under ‘Reports’ or ‘Charts’ Clicking on ‘By Country’ on ‘Reports’ will display a country wise report. Click under the ‘Charts’ will display the data in a pie-chart. All this without writing any single code
    23. Click on ‘Home’ link to get back to APEX workspace home page
    24. Back to Workspace
