  • FORESIGHTOLOGY – the study and development of foresight processes for the job at hand and future actions To act, taking into account the following aspects about foresight: Foresight is a tool (5) for self-help/ business/ policies/ innovation/ technologies/ education/ diplomacy/ lobbying, etc. Foresight is a technology (4). Technology - A body of knowledge used to create tools, develop skills, and extract or collect materials; the application of science (the combination of the scientific method and material) to meet an objective or solve a problem. (Glossary, The National Institutes of Health, the USA) Foresight (3) is a particular area of individual and collective human activities. Foresight means visions (2): we can individually and collectively create, develop sets of visions (mental images of what the future will or could be like/ how something could be in the future), looking ahead at certain topics/ the job at hand within time and space frames to support decision making and problem solving, production of intangible and tangible things. Foresight (1) is one of the most important human abilities.
