About Andrea Roberts is a Sustainable Cities Doctoral Initiative Fellow in the Community & Regional Planning and Historic Preservative Programs at the University of Texas-Austin. Her research explores the potential for memory and heritage to address the recurrent gap between planning practice and equity within rural African American settlements. She is particularly concerned with rural African American land ownership, cultural preservation & governance as well as American planning historiography.
