The products <ul><li>The hub will stock pharmaceuticals according to the WHO essential drugs list </li></ul><ul><li>Pharmaceuticals will be sourced mainly from India, South Africa and some European countries </li></ul><ul><li>We will source from Africa where possible </li></ul><ul><li>Medical supplies and surgical dressings will be sourced mainly from China </li></ul><ul><li>Sourcing of all products will be based on the best pricequality ratio. </li></ul>

Technology <ul><li>The heart of the operation will be an ERP system </li></ul><ul><li>ERP system - Short for enterprise resource planning, a business management system that integrates all facets of the business </li></ul><ul><li>ERP system includes : </li></ul><ul><li>User Level Configuration Utilities </li></ul><ul><li>GL + Financials </li></ul><ul><li>CRM (Customer Relations Management) </li></ul><ul><li>Order Processing </li></ul><ul><li>Service and Customer Support </li></ul><ul><li>Inventory Control </li></ul><ul><li>Purchasing </li></ul><ul><li>Human Resources </li></ul><ul><li>Project Management </li></ul>

The internet <ul><li>There will be extensive use of the internet for internal and external use. </li></ul><ul><li>Clients will be able to view stock levels and order directly via the net </li></ul><ul><li>NGOs will be able to see the position of their stock which has been stored with us. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Stock Control <ul><li>A strict method of stock control will be implemented. Cycle counting with a two month turnover will be implemented in order to synchronise stock recorded on the system and stock on the shelf. Over time, we will implement RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) in order to enhance stock control. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Transportation <ul><li>At the beginning of the process a third party will be used </li></ul><ul><li>Later on we will look into development of our own system of transportation </li></ul>

Advantages for Rwanda <ul><li>Rwanda will be a hub of distribution of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals to the entire Eastern part of Africa </li></ul><ul><li>Due to the large quantities which we are planning to purchase, prices of pharmaceuticals for the private market and NGOs will be lower </li></ul><ul><li>New supply chain technologies will be introduced to the market </li></ul><ul><li>The supply chain will lay the foundation for much intense trade between the various counties in the region </li></ul><ul><li>With an established supply chain it will be considerably easy to move into manufacturing. </li></ul>
