Client's brief and site requirements makes the architecture complex. In today's buildings, allied engineering services, further increases the complexity. In 1987, we understood this underlined statement and Ar. Raaja Chavvan along with his collegues Ar. Madhav Ambekar and Ar. Shreenivas Ketkar formed "ARK DESIGNS PVT LIMITED" to give turnkey solutions under one umbrella. ARK Designs has handled varied projects with ease and giving end users complete satisfaction and creating passive built environment.

  • BANK OF INDIA , INDIAN OIL CORPORATION, ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE, INCOME TAX, MIDC • MMRDA has a very rigid design statute for BKC. • These constrains only molded the structure to create organic form which has been reflected through circular meeting rooms in the front and atrium with transparent elevators ,without compromising on usable footprint which is important for office building. • The façade is cladded with grey coloured transparent glass and for the 1st time grey coloured frosted glass is used for all spandrel areas. • Sustainable architecture achieved through green building accreditation. BANK OF INDIA , INDIAN OIL CORPORATION, ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE, INCOME TAX, MIDC • Fluid form has been developed from the drop of oil. • Use of Structural steel girders as architectural features creating column less usable office space. • The service cores on either side creates the solid mass which holds the void cladded with glass .

COST : 1800 MILLIONS BANK OF INDIA , INDIAN OIL CORPORATION, ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE, INCOME TAX, MIDC • The plot is on the edge of the layout having 3 sides open therefore it called for very quiet and subtle design. • It is a simple, economic and functional plan. • It has double height entrance lobby, terrace gardens, neatly sculptured glass façade and green building, in short everything that can make corporate statement.

At the same time glass façade done with waves, terrace gardens and softer corner creates welcoming / friendliness. • 40,000 sq. ft. large floor plate with central landscaped atrium with its distinctive skylight that brings daylight into the interior of the building. • 600 stackable car parking facility.
