Workshop II (1) We work with PDAs or SmartPhones with integrated GPS. The main goal is to produce KMZ files to be seen in GoogleEarth. For these propose we will go to the field and geo-reference a track – it could be about historical, natural or cultural heritage. To georeference the track, along with the PDA, software called TurboGPS will be used. So in first place the workshop will focus in provide the knowledge to work with the PDA and the software.

Workshop II (2) After the track be exported to the computer from the PDA, who will have only the path and a photo for which POI (Points of Interest), we will learn how to edit those KMZ files to add more information (like video from Youtube, images, text) so it can be seen in GoogleEarth. In a pedagogical context is the ideal time for students to work the course contents and to investigate and reflect on the matters under investigation.

Workshop II (3) The main objective is to generate historical/cultural routes of the the heritage and share them in the internet, especially trough schools websites. This area is connected to the social sciences curriculum, that is, it will be focusing in subjects like Geography and History.
