      • Objectives:
      • The project aims to build a self-sustained women’s cooperative in rural Pilani, and has two major objectives:
      • To create entrepreneurs from among the women folk in rural Pilani
      • 2. To build a replicable model of setting up a cooperative business unit in a rural setup
    2. Implementation model

      • The project is being implemented in three phases:
      • Phase-1:Identifying a group of women and engaging them in an income generation activity to build the foundation of the cooperative
      • 2. Phase-2: Building a self sustained cooperative around the group
      • 3.Phase-3: Bringing in micro finance into the cooperative to make it financially sound.
    3. Phase-I: Getting Started
      • Identifying a group of women
      • Identifying an income generation activity
      • Ground work
      • Getting the group moving
      • Successfully completed last semester!
    4. Phase-II: Powering through
      • Currently on the anvil:
      • Workshops for the women
      • 2. Alternative economic activities
      • Bags
      • Vermicomposting
      • Mushroom farming
      • 3. Building a tappable resource base
      • Phase-III: Touchdown!
      • Building a Micro finance model round the cooperative to make it financially sound
      • Exit !
    5. Requirements:
      • Networks:
      • NGO partners and organizations who can provide:
      • technical know-how
      • training
      • Marketing of future products
      • Aid with workshops and case studies
      • Funding:
      • Ground activities
      • Seed Funding for future products
    6. Achievements :
      • Steady source of income for the women
      • Breaking the mould
