A poem I wrote to pay tribute to all dedicated teachers wherever they are.

1. A Motivated Teacher
I who have made the choice
To stand among and before kids
To teach them and rejoice.
I don’t care about dimes or quids!

2. True, all I have is chalk and talk.
But, at learning seldom do my kids balk.
And never at my shabby clothes do they gawk.
Instead, into new worlds I help them walk
Hoping new doors they will unlock
Behind which no evil ideas stalk.

3. And time and again,
Together, we orchestrate a learning moonwalk
Yeah, we do often teach with a curvy back
And a stomach with not even a snack.
But, the idea is to make their brains rack
So as not to remain for long at the back.

4. No doubt, we do our best to show them the
right
track.
Yet, by their indifference we are often taken
aback
And we fear they will never get their “Bac”.
Quite amazingly, so many did go even beyond the
“Bac”

5. And through the perils of life they did
successfully
bushwhack.
Some have become teachers, some doctors and
some masters of snack
That’s probably why from TEACHING I will
never ever pull back.
