Describe (for the customers defined in the previous slide) the business problem.
How are customers solving the problem today?
How are the current solutions deficient?
Can you prove that a solution to this problem is a “need to have” vs. a “nice to have”?

Describe the product/solution and the approach to solving the business problem.

Value Proposition
What is the unique value that your product/service delivers to customers?
What pain are you eliminating?
How does a customer measure ROI on the solution?
What events or market trends are driving customers to buy this solution now?

Sales
How are you selling (direct, indirect, a combination)?
How long is the sales cycle?
How do you identify and reach target customers?
What is the current sales pipeline?

Partnerships
What partnerships do you have?
What key partnerships will have have/need in the future?
What are your dependencies on those partnerships?

Acquiring and Retaining Customers
How much does it cost to acquire a customer?
Does that change over time?
What is the lifetime value of a customer?

Revenue Model
How do you make money?
What is required to become profitable?

Development Plan
What stage of development are you at?
What are the major upcoming milestones?

Team
Who are the key executives and what is their experience and background?

Customers
For each customer you have describe
What other solutions the customer evaluated
Why they chose you
The value the customer has gained through the use of your product (quantifiable is better)
Revenue
How the customer plans to move forward with your product.
(Note: The customer must be referencable! Get the customer’s agreement beforehand)

Fund Raising
Describe what money has been raised so far, what it was used for, who it was from.
How much money are you trying to raise?
What will those funds be used for?
How much additional funding will you need and at which milestones?

VC Fit
What is the fit of your company with this VC’s fund and expertise?
