  2. 2. Creating a Shortcut to a Program It is very important when creating a shortcut not to move the actual program from the Start menu. Doing this would cause others who login and use the computer to not have access to the program. Let’s get started!

Creating a Shortcut to a Program <ul><li>Select START in the lower left hand corner. </li></ul><ul><li>Select ALL PROGRAMS </li></ul><ul><li>Click once to select </li></ul><ul><li>the program in which </li></ul><ul><li>you want to make </li></ul><ul><li>a shortcut to on your </li></ul><ul><li>desktop. </li></ul>

  9. 9. Creating a Shortcut to a Website <ul><li>Click and hold down your mouse key on the </li></ul><ul><li>white paper with the blue e icon to the left of the website’s URL. </li></ul>
  10. 10. Creating a Shortcut to a Website <ul><li>Drag the URL’s icon to the desktop. The icon will appear as below when placed on your desktop. </li></ul>
  11. 11. Creating a Shortcut to a Website TIP When adding a shortcut from a URL to your desktop, your Internet Explorer window needs to be restored down and not filling the screen. To restore down a window, select the double windows icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
